Awning software for marine canvas shops that run on a whiteboard

Canvas Shop Board is awning software for marine canvas and awning shops that tracks every bimini, enclosure, awning and boat cover job from measure to install and tags every customer's winter canvas in storage.

Where is my bimini?

A job passes through five hands over six weeks. The board shows which one it is in.

Measure at the dock, pattern on the floor, cut, sew, install. In a marine canvas business those steps are days or weeks apart, and the stage lives on a whiteboard or in the owner's head, so the customer calls to ask. On Canvas Shop Board every job is a card in a stage column. Move it forward and the office, the fabricators and (on Pro) the customer all see the same thing.

Job types are the ones you actually do: awning, bimini, enclosure, boat cover, cushions, repair, winter takedown and spring reinstall.

Measurements that are still there in March

The numbers from the boat live on the job, not on a scrap of paper

Record the measurements, the fabric and color, and the measure and install dates on the job. Take the pattern photos with the phone and they attach to the same card. When the piece comes up for sewing months later, whoever sits at the machine opens the job and has everything.

  • Measurements

A free-text block for every dimension and note from the boat or storefront.

  • Fabric and color

Sunbrella Captain Navy, Stamoid white, or whatever you spec.

  • Pattern photos

Up to 8 per job, straight from the phone camera.

  • Notes with photos

Shop-only by default; mark one visible and the customer sees it.

The go-ahead, in writing

No fabric gets cut until the customer approves the quote

Put the price on the job and it sits in the Quote column. On the Pro plan the customer gets a login, sees the quote, and approves or declines it there. The approval date is stamped on the job, and the voicemail-and-text-thread hunt for “did they say yes?” is over. Customers also see their job's stage, the notes you share, and their canvas in storage, so they stop calling to ask.

October to April

Boat cover storage that finds the right bag in spring

Every fall dozens of enclosures, biminis and awnings come down and go on your shelves, and by April the paper tags have fallen off. Log each piece as you take it down: a tag number, what it is and whose, the shelf or bag it went in, its condition and a photo. When the customer asks for a reinstall date it lands on the dashboard, and the spring list sorts itself by shelf.

Who sees what

Fabricators see the whole board and move only their own jobs

01

Shop Owner

Sets up the shop, sees and edits everything, sets quotes, invites staff and customers, and is the only one who can delete.

02

Office Manager

Answers the phone and runs the schedule: customers, jobs, quotes, dates and storage. Can't delete anything. From the Shop plan.

03

Fabricator

Reads every job, customer and stored piece so they can find the boat and the right bag; moves the jobs assigned to them, adds notes and photos, logs takedowns.

04

Customer

Sees their own jobs and stages, the notes you mark visible, and their stored canvas. Approves or declines a quote and asks for a reinstall date. Pro plan.

Pricing

Less than one yard of Sunbrella a month

The purpose-built awning tools start at $189 a month billed annually, and the general field-service apps charge per user and are built around visits and invoices, not shop stages or stored canvas. Canvas Shop Board does the board and the storage list, so a month costs about what a yard of marine fabric does. Pay for the year and two months are free. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial, no card.

Questions from the shop floor

What a canvas shop asks before switching off the whiteboard

What does awning software need to do that a field-service app doesn't?

A canvas job isn't a visit and an invoice. It passes through measure, pattern, cutting, sewing and install, often weeks apart, and the measurements taken on the boat have to be there when the piece is sewn. Canvas Shop Board is built around those stages and keeps the measurements, fabric, color and pattern photos on the job itself.

Is it for marine canvas shops or awning shops?

Both. The job types are awning, bimini, enclosure, boat cover, cushions, repair, winter takedown and spring reinstall, and a site can be a boat, a storefront, a home or a restaurant patio. Most shops that do one also do some of the other.

How does the winter storage list work?

When a bimini, enclosure or awning comes down in the fall you log it as a stored piece with a tag number, the shelf or bag it went in, its condition and a photo. In spring the dashboard shows which pieces have a reinstall date asked for, so nobody is guessing which bag is whose.

Can my fabricators use it on their phones?

Yes. It runs in the phone's browser with nothing to install. A fabricator sees the whole board, moves the jobs assigned to them through the shop stages, records measurements and takes pattern photos with the phone camera.

How do customers approve a quote?

On the Pro plan you invite a customer to the portal. They see their own jobs and stages, the price on an open quote, and approve or decline it there, with the date recorded on the job. They also see the notes and photos you marked visible, and their stored pieces.

Does it do estimating, 3D drawings or invoices?

No. Canvas Shop Board tracks the job and the stored canvas. Keep your estimating tool and your invoicing or accounting software for pricing and billing.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 14 days with no card. If it runs out before you choose a plan, nothing is deleted: you can still read every job and stored piece, you just can't add new ones.
